Coming To You, Live From my Dad's Laptop!

Hi everybody!

I just came to update you all, and get that slightly depressing entree out of the way. I've moved, and its not what I thought it would be...its so much better! My brother and one of his friends have been here visiting for a week, they leave tomorrow morning, so I've been pretty busy. I'm so sorry, I would've updated sooner but I just couldn't get to a computer. Speaking of computers, your probably wondering about the title...well, since I've moved my brand new computer has been having some issues, and refuses to power up. So it is in the Mac store now, as I type this, hopefully getting fixed for me to bring home today or at the latest, tomorrow afternoon. Now, onto some happier news, I did pick up my kitten a day or two after I moved in, despite being really sick with a cold, when I held her I felt so much better. She's beautiful, loving, but very naughty, I must admit, right now she's watching me type, climbing all over the keyboard! She's quite a handful as you can probably imagine. Just the other day, I was downstairs with my mom and dad, minding my own business and having some fun, when out of the corner of my eye I happened to look up and there she was, like a queen, half of her body out of the balcony, looking down over us. Now, let me explain this, our upstairs consists of only my bedroom, my parents on the opposite bedroom and the second bathroom in the middle, its only a walk down the hall from my bedroom to get to my parents'. So, the upstairs in a strip, like an E without the middle line. Our balcony is made up of carved wood, so there are spaces where the chunks of wood where taken away to make the carving, some holes both low enough and big enough for her body to fit through (she's very tiny.) So, she was halfway through one of the holes, both her front paws out on the very small edge, looking down on us. You can only imagine how scared I was! I practically sprinted up the staircase to go and grab her before she made it all the way through, luckily, I was just in time. Sadly, I can't post any pictures of my little daredevil at the moment, because all my pictures are on my computer, which like I said is being worked on. So, as soon as I get it back home, I'll be sure that the first thing I do is post an entree with pictures of her, and her story of course. The reason I bring her up now, in this entree is because she has no name, and its been almost a week since I got her. I am thinking of the name Feather, I know it sounds strange but her fur reminds me of the feathers used to stuff expensive pillows. She is so soft. Besides that, she loves playing with her feather toy. My parents love the name Spooky, because she's constantly getting spooked, even if she acts brave. She's such a character! Anyway, you DON'T have to give names in the comments here, I'd rather you post them in the entree that has the pictures of her, so you can see how she looks, and come up with better names that fit both her personality AND her appearance. I can't wait to post them so I can hear all the great names people come up with for her! I'm very curious to hear your ideas, because I just can't seem to find her perfect name. Thank you so much for reading, I'll see you soon!

Bye!

I've Waited So Long...

Hi everyone,

I'm here just to vent, I guess you could say. Venting not in a bad way, but a good one, so many things have happened to me for as long as I can remember, some things that where hard and some things that I never quite understood why they were happening to me. But lately in this past year those emotions have been coming back, slow by slow. Luckily I have friends by my side, and a family who supports me. Now, with 2011 just around the bend, it seems like things are beginning to take a turn for the better. I say that it "seems" like, because I just can't BEGIN to wrap my head around all the good things that are overflowing my life, after all the hardships and struggles I've been through. Its so unreal to me at this moment, as I'm typing this I feel so strange, almost numb. I'm in doubt yet so faithful about whats happening, and I think when I get on the plane tomorrow morning, that everything will come together in my head, and finally all the doubts will just slip away like they'd never existed in my mind. I'm flying away to things that will finally bring me some true happiness, and meeting myself at the end of the journey. I know this sounds strange, and staged in every single way possible, but these are my thoughts, and I need to let them out. I've never really known who the "real me" was, I felt trapped, sad or mad every minute of my life. I've never had a space for myself, or a time when my muscles weren't tense, I felt like I could never relax or be myself in these situations, like I was always putting on a mask, center stage. Only those moments, that were gone with blink of an eye, when I was around my true family, people who excepted and knew me for who I was and no one else, could I be myself. Now, though its taking long to sink in, I am finally free to let go, and live the rest of my life as the person I was meant to be. And that makes me happy. Finally.

Work In Progress of "Ivy" (A.K.A my first painting!)

I've finished more of Ivy. I've began the first few layers of the base color to her arms, also tweaked her face and chest area:

Close up of her face, just so you can see better. Her right eye is not finished yet, sorry! I'll hopefully be posting more progression shots soon, leading up to the much awaited finished piece! (at least I hope other people are as excited for it as I am, if your not I'd be awfully embarrassed!) Critiques excepted!

Exploring the world of painting!

Hey everyone,
I'm sorry for not posting in a while again, I know I tend to do that allot, but in my defense, things have been getting pretty hectic in my house, and I barely have time to breathe. But, what I have found time for was to talk about this, what I'm talking about today has been really important to me since I started working on it not to long ago. It's a painting for a really good friend who's helped me through allot, I feel like we connect with each other to the point that we basically read each other's minds. I know it sounds strange, but, this project is for her, and when its finished, I hope she likes it! How this started was a few weeks ago, when I was at my friend Skylar's  house, and I got a chance to meet one of the most talented painters known to man! His name is Dario. Dario told me I should try to paint, and for a while afterward I was a bit apprehensive to do so. He advised me to begin small and simple, for instance, a bowl of fruit, or simpler, an apple. Of course, knowing me, when the moment arises and I want to do something, I will do it no matter what someone tells me. So one day, after meeting up with my friend, I got the most powerful sense of inspiration I have ever felt. It overcome me so much that it caused me to do something absolutely unheard of. Yet somehow, it seems that doing things on impulse, isn't so bad if done in moderation. Sometimes the adrenaline of it all is just what you need to push you out of a funk. So, all of you are probably wondering now, what is this crazy thing I did? Well, I asked my mom shortly after I left my friend's house to pull into the mall parking lot so I could go to the craft store. She asked why but I refused to tell her, it was almost as if these crazy ideas I was having pulled me into a trance. Going into the craft store I hurried for the back, where the stored all their larger canvases on racks. I grabbed a canvas the with the size 30 x 40 (inches). This is a fairly large canvas (Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa is a size of 30 x 21 inches.) By then my mom thinks I've gone completely mad, and the fact that almost never lifted a paintbrush in my life most likely scared her more. Of course I insisted, and the canvas and supplies for my mystery project were bought. Now, I am working on this project, and am farther then my mom ever thought I would get. I never even thought I would've gotten this far. Half way through this painting and it has been going amazingly for me. It doesn't even seem like I am the one painting it, it feels as if someone else takes my brush to the canvas while I just sit and watch. The process has had it's ups and downs, don't get me wrong, but for the most part this could have gone much much worse. I could've painted horribly or worse yet, worn my canvas down to nothing and be left with a large hole. I am grateful that nothing of the sort happened so far, and I hope that my good luck with this very important project continues. For now, here is the work in progress of the painting, keep in mind I had no reference for this, just my sketch that can be seen clipped to the canvas in the photo:

Goodbye

Before you assume anything, no I'm not abandoning my blog (Even if god knows I never touch this thing!) I'm sadly, leaving my beloved computer. Since he's been broken for a while, I decided to use my money to get a new one. This is my last blog entree using him before he gets sold off to the Mac store to get fixed and resold. For some reason I'm really sad about this, I love my computer but the new one is so tempting...I will even be able to use Windows applications without leaving my Macintosh side. That means I get the amazing drawing applications designed for Windows, without leaving the comfort of my Mac! Which is a nice plus that I don't have with this guy. But still, I seem to have problems with getting attached to inanimate objects allot, like old toys. In fact, I still have my favorite childhood toy, which my entire family is planning sneak attacks to get rid of, but I can't sleep without it! Is that sad?
Anyway, for the sake of keeping this short and sweet, I'm going to leave now. I know allot of my blogs are short, but I can never really bring myself to write a long one. I'm not sure why, even if I do feel like I owe my readers that much, seeing that I hardly update my blog. You know...I don't think I could make it as a daily blogger.

Bye guys.

Line arts!

Well, I just stopped by to say I've been a busy bee, working on perfecting my line work (for cartoons, anime, etc.) I figured I'd show my improvements. All the before drawings were from this earlier this year. Tell me what you think, have I really improved?

Michael Jackson, THRILLER

I am a big, BIG Michael Jackson fan, I love his music, personality, style, and pretty much everything about him. He's creative and probably one of the best and biggest stars to grace the stage. His performer heart brimmed over with passion for his career, and most importantly his fans. That is not something you find in celebrities of his kind, so famous and popular. In short, I would like to present to you, my tribute, to the King of Pop....

 Rest In Peace....
